9月12日(木) 三日目

ペルー団と文徳中の生徒諸君は、縦割り班でスクールバスに乗車し、熊本県県庁の防災センターと水前寺成趣園を訪れました。

防災センターでは、昨今頻発している地震や台風などの大きな災害の原因や起きた時の対処に関して講話をいただきました。ペルーも環太平洋造山帯上に位置している国であるため地震が多く、共感できる部分も多々あるので、生徒諸君は講話に聴き入っていました。また施設内では、クイズラリーや地震発生時のVR体験もでき、災害時の対応の仕方や災害への備えに関して知見を深めることができました。またペルーの生徒たちは、木村熊本県知事への表敬訪問を行いました。木村知事は前日亡くなられたフジモリ元大統領への哀悼の意を述べられた後、ペルーの訪問団に親しみのある温い言葉で対応していただき、サプライズとしてくまモンからの歓迎を受けました。

生徒諸君は防災センターにて昼食を取った後に、水前寺成趣園に徒歩で向かいました。水前寺成趣園では、各班が巡回コースを設定し、ペルーの生徒を引き連れて園内を散策しました。文徳中学校の生徒は、事前学習で作成した各スポットに関する英語のスクリプトを駆使して、ペルーの生徒に説明を行いながら回りました。

炎天下での移動や散策ではありましたが、ペルーの生徒と地震に関して意見を交換しあったり、英語の説明を行なったりなど非常に充実した一日になったようでした。

学校到着後、多目的ホールにてペルー訪問団へのお別れのセレモニーを行いました。セレモニーでは、エリアナ校長先生から訪問団受け入れへの感謝のお言葉とともにお別れのご挨拶をいただきました。校長先生からのご挨拶の後に、ペルーの生徒一人一人が文徳中学校での思い出を語ってくれました。どの生徒も「人生の中で一番良い経験でした。」「引率していただいたエリアナ先生に感謝しています。」「ホストファミリーやクラスメイトの優しさに触れて嬉しかったです。」「自分が成長できる素晴らしい機会でした。」「また会えることに希望を抱いています。」と語ってくれました。本校からは生徒を代表して蔵座さん(３J八嘉小)が英語でお別れの言葉を述べてくれました。

　セレモニー後半ではペルーの生徒がアルパカの上位種であるビクーニャの人形を一人一人にプレゼントしてくれました。本校からは、サンホセ・デ・モンテリコ校に山鹿市の伝統工芸品「来民渋うちわ」を贈りました。また最後のレクリエーションも行い、全員で手を繋いでセレモニーを締めくくることができました。

The group from Peru and Buntoku Junior High students split into groups mixing grades and boarding the school bus, went to Kumamoto Prefectural Government’s Disaster Prevention Center and Suizenji Park.
At the Disaster Prevention Center, the students received a lecture on the causes of major disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons, which have been occurring frequently in recent years, and how to respond when they occur. Peru is also a country located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, so it experiences a lot of earthquakes and there were many points that the students could relate to, so they listened intently to the lecture. Also, the students participated in a quiz rally and could experience a VR simulation of an earthquake and flooding, deepening their knowledge of how to respond to and prepare for disasters. The Peruvian students also met Kumamoto Prefecture Governor Mr. Kimura. After Governor Kimura expressed his condolences for former President Fujimroi, who passed away the day before, he greeted the group warmly, and as a surprise had Kumamon come welcome them.

After the students ate lunch at the center, they walked to Suizenji Park. At the park, each group set off on their own course and showed the Peruvian kids around. The Buntoku students had prepared English scripts to describe each spot in the park, so they could explain these places to the Peruvian students while walking around.
Although we were walking under the scorching sun, it seemed to be a fulfilling day as the students were exchanging their thoughts on earthquakes and giving explanations in English.

After arriving back at the school, a farewell ceremony for the group from Peru was held in the Multipurpose Hall. During the ceremony, Principal Eliana shared her thanks for receiving them during their visit and gave her farewell. After their principal’s speech, each student from Peru shared their memories they made at Buntoku Junior High. Each student shared that, “It was the best experience of my life,” “I’m grateful to Ms. Eliana for bringing us here,” “I was happy to experience the kindness of my host family and classmates,” It was a wonderful opportunity for me to grow as a person,” and “I hope to see everyone again.” From Buntoku, one representative student, Zoza (3J from Hakka Elementary School) gave a parting speech in English.
Near the end of the ceremony, the Peruvian students handed out alpaca keychains to each person. Our school presented the San José de Monterrico school with a traditional “Kaimin Shibu Uchiwa” fan from Yamaga City. We also had a final recreational activity, and all the students joined hands to conclude the ceremony.

9月11日(水)二日目

午前中にペルーの生徒たちが理科、武道、音楽、国語の授業に参加しました。

ペルーの生徒諸君は、国語の時間に習字、武道の時間に剣道を体験し、礼儀作法など日本の文化について学んでいたようです。

授業時間にホストファミリーの生徒が主となってペルーの生徒諸君に積極的に話しかけたり、教室掃除を一緒に行なったりして、ペルーの生徒たちとコミュニケーションをとる回数が多くなるに従って、生徒諸君はクラスメイトの一員という意識も昼食時の机を円形にして全員の顔が見えるように食事を取る生徒たちの行動に、できるだけ多くの時間をペルーの生徒諸君と共有したいという思いが表れていました。

　午後からペルーの生徒諸君は、崇城大学の施設を見学後、中学校の空手部や高校の相撲部の活動を見学しました。この部活動見学には、文徳中の文化部が同行しました。空手部見学では、型「燕飛(エンピ)」の後半を中学生が英語を使って説明を行いました。また相撲部見学では、廻しを締めた体格の良い高校生の姿に彼らは圧倒される生徒もいましたが、ペルーではできない経験をすることができたと大変喜んでくれました。

During the morning, the Peruvian students participated in science, kendo, music, and Japanese class. Through practicing calligraphy in Japanese class and kendo in PE class, they were able to learn about Japanese culture, such as etiquette.

During class, the students who were part of the host families took the lead in actively talking to the Peruvian students, cleaning together, and as they communicated with the Peruvian students more and more, the students also began to feel like they were park of their school. At lunch time, the students pushed their desks into a circle so that they could see everyone’s faces, showing their desire to spend as much time with the Peruvian students as possible.

In the afternoon, after the Peruvian students toured the facilities at Sojo University, they went to watch the junior high school’s karate team and the high school’s sumo team’s practice. During the tour of the karate club, junior high school students gave a demonstration in English of the second half of the kata “Enpi.” During their tour of the sumo club, some students were intimidated by the well-built high school students wearing mawashi (sumo wrestling belts), but they were also very pleased to have had an experience that they could not have had in Peru.

９月１０日(火)～９月１３日（金）の４日間の日程で、ペルーのサンホセ・デ・モンテリコ校より、引率のヤマシロ・ナカムラ・エリアナ校長先生、サポーターのイザベル・シマさん、そして中学３年生の生徒５名が本校を訪れ、国際交流会を実施しました。サンホセ・デ・モンテリコ校との交流は、2012年より行っていましたが、新型コロナウイルスのパンデミックにより、生徒諸君の対面での交流会は５年ぶり５回目となります。昨年はリモートによるＺＯＯＭ交流会を実施しました。

９月１０日(火)一日目

訪問団到着後すぐにエリアナ校長先生やサンホセ・デ・モンテリコ校の生徒一人ひとりから、本校職員に日本語でご挨拶をいただき、記念品をいただきました。

１時間目の交流会では、日本とペルーの国旗の前で、エリアナ校長先生より本校の生徒諸君へ日本語での挨拶をいただき、サンホセ・デ・モンテリコ校の様子をビデオ映像を通して紹介いただきました。本校生徒を代表して村上さん（３J大浜小）が歓迎の言葉を述べた後、ペルーの衣装をまとったサンホセ・デ・モンテリコ校の生徒たちよりダンスの披露がありました。その後の、レクレーションを通して、両校の生徒たちの表情には次第に笑顔が広がって行きました。

２時間目以降は、ベルーの生徒諸君も本校の中学生と共に授業に参加しました。生徒諸君は、英語の授業はもちろんのこと、社会・数学の授業においても、お互いに英語を使って身振り手振りを交えながら一生懸命コミュニケーションを取ろうと努力していました。また、体育では、ペルーの生徒たちも、サンホセ・デ・モンテリコ校では実施されていない水泳の授業に挑戦してくれました。

異文化に触れ、異なる言語でのコミュニケーションに最初はとまどいや恥ずかしさが見られましたが、空間や時間を共有するうちに次第に打ち解けていく様子が見られ、対面で顔を合わせて交流することが、お互いの理解を深める上でいかに大切なことか実感することができました。

放課後、ペルーの生徒たちは、本校生徒の家族（ホストファミリー）とともに、帰宅し、日本での家庭生活を体験しています。

Immediately after their group arrived, Principal Eliana and each of the students from San Jose de Monterrico greeted the school staff in Japanese and presented them with commemorative gifts.

During first period, we held an exchange party with both the Japanese and Peruvian flag handing in the front. Principal Eliana gave a speech in Japanese to our students and showed us a video of their school. As representative, one of our students, Ms. Murakami (from Ohama Elementary School) welcomed the Peruvian students, then the students from San Jose de Monterrico, dressed in traditional Peruvian clothing, performed a dance. After that, we had an ice breaker where students from both schools had smiles gradually spread across their faces.

From 2^nd period, the Peruvian students participated in our classes. The students tried hard to communicate with each other in English and by using gestures and body language, not only in English classes but also in social studies and math class. Also, in PE class, the Peruvian students tried swimming lessons which are not offered at their school.

At first, the students seemed confused and nervous interacting with people from a different culture and communicating in a different language, but as they shared space and time together, they gradually began to open up, and they realized how important face-to-face interaction is in deepening mutual understanding.
After school, the Peruvian students returned home with our students families (their host families) and experienced home life in Japan.

理科実験授業
9月9日(月)1年生の理科の授業で、水に溶けた物質を取り出す実験を行いました。
塩化ナトリウムと硝酸カリウムを一旦水に入れ、温度を上げ、溶かします。その後、徐々に冷やし、結晶として取り出す実験です。水への溶けやすさは、物質によって異なり、温度が高くなると急激に溶けやすくなるものもあります。水への溶けやすさと温度の関係を学ぶことが実験の目的です。「再結晶」という概念を学びます。
